Aeternum Typeface by Nether83 Aeternum Typeface by Nether83
Long story short: This is a school project. Name of the game was to design a Pompeji style font based on the archaic typefaces they used back in ancient rome.

I made a poster featuring my font Aeternum Regular. Did it using Photoshop CS3, Illustrator CS3. For the font making process I used Fontographer 4.0.

Credit for the background textures I used, goes to :icondxstock:

Hah cool, not bad like. I like the font, it's great!

Bit of a random idea though... But you say it is an art project, so all is excused! ;)

I'm interested in how you think this is a random idea. Just out of curiosity.

I personally didn't like the fact very much that this was such a closed topic. The earlier students who took the same font designing course, didn't have a specific topic. They could do whatever the fuck they wanted to.

Still, there are worse things to make a font for than Pompeji.

Hmmm. It's a random idea for the project creators to come up with (Designing a font). You however did quite well within your design limitations. I guess I didn't make myself clear enough before ;).... Hehe.

It's actually not that random. It's based on a Pompej project that involves all the different aspects of our school, meaning design in graphics, multimedia, clothes and textiles, and also the conservation department. The project is meant to bring the ancient pompejan House of Lucretius, back to life.

It's also supposed to be a way to make all our departments work together to achieve something in a larger scale, but that isn't really working out. Co-operation my ass!

My font was originally intended to resurrect all the dead pompeji-ppl to life by scribbling ancient pagan texts to a stone near Vesuvius with it. WITH BLOOD!

Oh! You didn't read the fineprint written with smaller letters then? The Chtulhu mumblings don't work with this one. This is so modern font that the only way to resurrect the dead with it is to read Shakespear's texts with American accent. The only bad thing about this method is that the undead will automatically kill the reader, so i suggest you find real Americans for the job.
