Oh the sweet feel of the Wacom pen in my hand!

I am currently studying the use of a tablet and painter in our school under the tutelage of none other than our very own megaphone of truth, Saibankan.

This was part of a task he gave us. It's a portrait of finnish national hero, skijumper extraordinaire and long time alcoholic jailbird, MATTI NYKÄNEN! It's my first ever tablet painting done with any effort.

Did this with a tablet in photoshop and took about 3 to 4 hours.

For the first tablet painting done with effort it looks really good. I think something is not right with his right eye (left is fine), as though it was made from plastic, and his forehead is too bright.

Of course his left eye looks weird. That's just his drunken lazy eye. I used a photo as a reference and he's pretty much wasted in every current picture.

You're right about the forehead though. Now that you said it it looks a bit flat and too bright

What can I say. Looks pretty fantastic, looks just like him. One thing that I'd change though' would be the shadows that are on the forehead. The shadows from the cheeks would've been maybe better, now they look as they've been done quickly with a airbrush with a gray color. Too quickly.

But nonetheless, good job matey! A+
