Today was a quiet day at work, so I managed to color my portraits of Quick Ben and Kalam I submitted earlier.
I think I'm starting to like doing these kinds of colored portraits. Only thing is they make my hand cramp, as well as probably annoying the hell out of anyone near me because of the constant clicking sound.
Photoshop CS3. Original linework with done with HB pencil.
Nice job. This looks even better with the colors. I especially like how you did Kalam. Even though there isn't a strong expression on his face he looks pretty threatening. I think it is because of how you drew his eyes and thus absolutely fitting. Don't ask me why. But I always thought purple would look great on Quick.
It's weird that purple thing how it actually suits him, although at first it supposed to be a magenta scarf, that being the imperial color and all. To me it just looked too girly so opted for purple instead.

Really nice work though, definitely in the tops for Malazan fanart.
I'll definitely be doing more of these some time in the future.
